Day 17

on

My attitude has improved since yesterday, which I’m sure you’re all pleased about… nothing worse than listening to whinging!

Dave is feeling pretty good today. We know from the last treatment that days 5-8 are the hardest, and day 5 after this treatment is Sunday – so hopefully we can have a good few days in Wagga.

We are leaving Canberra in an hour or so. Dave has taken his 12 chocolate iced cupcakes to work and is no doubt enjoying celebrating 3 Years with the ARA with his workmates. We are both very keen to get to Wagga, to see Will (and Darryl) and also see my beautiful nephew Alexander (and his family!) for his 7th Birthday, and also Dad and Pamela who are visiting Wagga for the weekend. We need to be careful Dave isn’t exposed to anybody with infections – although considering I am feeling like I am coming down with something it’s going to be hard for him to avoid me. Please pray I don’t give it to him!

I popped up to Fyshwick fresh food markets just now and got some food to take home for the weekend. Hopefully we will have a family dinner at my house tomorrow night – I have plenty of food. I loe wandering around these markets 🙂

I bought blue swimmer crabs, prawns, kingfish, mussels and squid from the seafood market; fennel, onions, parsley, celery, cavelo nero, garlic, lemons and oregano from the fruit and veg shop and locally made Italian sausage and parmigiano reggiano from the deli. I then grabbed some Ciabatta bread from Silo bakery at Kingston on my way back. It was still warm and smelt sooo good!

The plan is a seafood stew of some kind, Italian inspired…with some braised cavelo nero and the bread to sop it up. I’ll post the recipe after the weekend. I was originally thinking of a paella (like I made for abc radio a couple of months ago) but Dad is a Paella expert…

Last night I cooked a TV dinner… can you guess which meal was mine and which was Dave’s?
