Day 24

on

I’ve done some calculations through the night. (My work colleagues will know I do my best work in the middle of the night!)

If Day 1 was the first time Dave had Chemo treatment, and he has to have at least 6 treatments, then the 6th treatment will be on the 27th of July, which will be day 70. When he’s starting to get over that last treatment it will be around Day 80.

They will then start the Radiotherapy treatment about 3-4 weeks after the last Chemo treatment (estimate Monday 22nd August). It will go for about 3 weeks, finishing at around the 9th of September. That will be about DAY ONE HUNDRED and FOURTEEN!!!!

I think I had better slow down these posts – I simply don’t have that much news, information or recipes!

I have an app on my phone that does a countdown to Holidays.

114 days of Dave having to go through this is very daunting…but the app tells me there is 120 days (from today) till we go on Holidays to Europe. Yes, we have travel insurance, since those other dates could definitely be pushed out, but Yee-ha, I’m so glad we have that Holiday to look forward to 🙂

I am an organizational freak when it comes to Holidays. I love the planning every bit as much as the actual holiday. I love thinking through what we will do, which flights are best, and hunting for bargains on great accommodation and experiences.

We started to organize this holiday late last year. We booked the flights in November 2015 and have been planning things ever since. It will be Dave’s last lot of leave before he  retires in December. For this Holiday, Dave has been the key organizer. He has been researching what we should do and where we should go, including where we can visit places in James Bond movies.

I’ve got to head off now and take my car to the other side of Canberra to be serviced. Thanks to the lovely Robyn at work for finding me somewhere in Canberra to have my work car serviced. She even phoned and made sure everything was OK. There are many fantastic people at my work – and she is definitely one of them x

Dave will be on his own for a few hours while I get this done, but will probably sleep anyway. He is a little better than he was yesterday but unfortunately has the sniffles.  We still haven’t gone for our drive, hopefully he will be up to it this afternoon.

One more sleep till Victoria arrives! The cover pic is one of my favourite of her 🙂
