Day 29

on

Wow – nearly a month since the Chemotherapy started. I wont say times flies – because it’s definitely not a case of time flies when your having fun. However, in hindsight it has gone relatively quickly. Its has been nearly 6 weeks since I have worked. Have I mentioned my fantastic team and especially my replacement Kylie… OK, maybe I might have, but I could never say enough how thankful I am to them.

Speaking of work, I popped in for a coffee, catchup and importantly a few cuddles at work before I left Wagga today. The Jennifer, Leanne H and Leanne W cuddle was just what I needed. I am very close to many of my work friends, hell we spend enough time together! I miss them. Hopefully in a few weeks I can go back to work, depending on how Dave is and other carer/family/friend replacements 🙂

As I may have also mentioned (haha!) I miss my boys, Will and Darryl. It was so lovely to spend some Mum and Son (and dog) time together yesterday afternoon and this morning. We watched a couple of movies, caught up on each others news, enjoyed a home cooked Snitty and Diane sauce together, and generally hung out. Will is working night shift this week, so that meant he was home this morning. Bonus!

I worked for about 3-4 years at Wagga’s Victoria Hotel (aka ‘the Vic’) in the late 90’s. I still use the same recipe for my Diane sauce: Gravy mix powder, water, garlic paste, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and cream. Will loves it. Not sure if ‘This is as good as you get at the pub’ is a compliment 😉 Feel free to ask for quantities if you want the recipe.

I’m not sure if I should tell you all this, but I bought Darryl a ‘Petfind’ device. I set it up and attached it to his collar yesterday and now I can see on my iPhone where he is anytime I want to. Given he should nearly always be in my back yard it might not tell me much. Yes, I am an overprotective Dog mother (OK Dad and maybe also an overprotective human mother too!) This is what it looks like on your phone. You can zoom in even more and see whether he is on the verandah or the lawn 😉

DOGFIND

I haven’t seen Dave yet as he is still at work. (now 5pm) When I spoke to him this morning he was feeling pretty good and has been at work for most of the day. He interviewed ‘Little Pattie’ yesterday and wanted to get the article for Army News written today. Click on the link and you can see the latest Army newspaper. He also writes for Navy News and Air Force News. The Little Pattie article will be in a Vietnam anniversary edition in a month or so.

Who remembers ‘Little Pattie’?

Tomorrow hit number three of Chemo…
